Gundam Unicorn Second Trailer Skimps on Full Frontal

Posted on: December 7, 2009

Gundam Unicorn

He's a Gundam hero: expect whininess.

Now that I have your attention, let’s talk about robots. Gundam Unicorn is a series of novels that follows the original Mobile Suit Gundam story, and it’s being released as a series of streaming videos starting in February of next year.

I’m hugely excited about it, because it’s been a decade since Gundam returned to its roots in the Universal Century and over twenty since Char’s Counterattack seemingly ended the story of Zeon. The recent spate of prettyboy-based Gundam series has only made me want this more and more, and the trailer shows a lot of promise.

Sadly, the trailer isn’t available to Americans yet – if you go to the official Gundam Unicorn site and try to watch the site from outside of Asia, it’ll show you a sad face and tell you that the video isn’t available in your region. However, if you have an account on Nico Video, you can watch the full trailer, which breezes through the Universal Century era in 2 minutes, and adds in some teasing details about Unicorn, which takes place 17 years after the One Year War. What it doesn’t have, though, is very much of the villain Full Frontal, who was the focus of the first trailer.

Yes, his name is Full Frontal. I welcome the upcoming hoops that Bandai will have to go through to censor that name for American audiences, like they were forced to do with “Quattro Bajeena.”

(*Snert Snert*) UNICORN! (*snort*) HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHAHAHAHA! (*giggle* *giggle* *giggle*)

craziest name for a sequel ever.

I never watched the original Gundam (been a fan of the series at large, but I have yet to finish a single series). So I’ll probably not watch this either.

I dislike whiny heroes. though I laugh when someone mentions Shinji (Evangelion)

SHUT UP SHINJI AND GET IN THE COCKPIT!

Never gets old.
