Oh, my poor, neglected anime blog. It has been three months since I was able to update you thanks to new responsibilities over at SideReel and a host of new features on the mother site (check them out! They’re great!). I simply fell out of the habit of writing for this site, and to keep me honest, I’ve brought in a friend to pinch hit and inspire me… and if this works out, I may bring another friend or two to come on in and help me. You should be hearing from him today, in fact!

In the meantime, have a reused image of Haruhi apologizing for her deadline slipping a gajillion times.

Kikyo's last breath

Over on the mother site, Lisseromen has a review of one of the most emotional episodes of InuYasha: The Final Act yet. The episode, “Among the Twinkling Stars“, bids a tearful farewell to one of the series’ main characters, and there isn’t a dry eye in the house, from SideReel to the official VIZ Media blog!

And now for something completely different: this week’s One Piece brings a new kind of “filler” that really isn’t. Penned by Oda himself, this week’s episode starts up an entirely new story meant to lead up to the 10th movie, Strong World. Based on what we have so far, it could be a fun ride!

Lucy and Natsu, with Happy on the right.The easy way to review Fairy Tail is to say “This is One Piece, but with wizards instead of pirates.” It’s mostly true, too. There’s a little more going on than that, though, so it’s worth taking a deeper look at the show to see past the similarities and judge it on its own merits.
